Sunday Fundays are the best! I recommend that everyone makes a resolution to have more of them. Whether you go somewhere new or somewhere familiar, make it a good one! My first Sunday Funday of the new year was in my favorite California city... Santa Barbara. It's the city nearest and dearest to my heart, filled with beautiful people, scenic views, and unforgettable memories. Being a
UC Santa Barbara alumni, I've had the pleasure of living in this fine city by the ocean and making best friends along the way. Any opportunity to come up is quickly accepted.
Santa Barbara may be a city familiar to me but new amazing memories were made this past Sunday. My friend, Rachelle, and I had a quite a fantastic day! Started off by grabbing brunch to go from what is now my favorite local spot,
The Shop Cafe, and eating beachside. A city that is fused by hundreds of local community shop owners, you're always in for a treat and this place was definitely that.

The Tugboat, named after the owner's dog, the best kind of eggs benedict on homemade biscuit that melts in your mouth and makes you say YUM. Only available on weekends. |

The Sando. Look at that cheesy goodness. *drool* |

As we ate along the beach, couldn't help but snatch a picture of this hold up.

No one was hurt. |
One of the greatest things about California is that it's January and sunny. You can't help but want to go out to the beach. Stop wanting and start doing is a Sunday Funday best practice. When someone suggests going for a sail, you do it! So, we did! Now that's a first for me!
|
We're on a boat! |
The sail got us quite thirsty, so of course we stopped for some drinks then headed to the
Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara.
Who knew that we'd end up getting all crafty in a museum?
|
Picasso, watch out |
You can only be in a museum so long before you decide that you want to go shopping. In Santa Barbara, everything is within immediate proximity to each other. Like this museum for instance. it's located on the second floor of the shopping center in Downtown Santa Barbara. How can a person just stop by without considering walking into a retail store shortly thereafter? Now that's strategic marketing! Location, Location, Location. By 6pm we were exhausted and content with our fabulous Sunday Funday. Can't wait to see what other Sunday Fundays are in store for this year!
Great post! That breakfast spot looks like it would be right up my alley. Yum!
